Earth Circle Community Sweat Lodge

Saturday, July 19th

in West Bath, ME

10 am until near or after Sunset

We will begin with meditation, chanting, listening within and without in a wisdom teaching circle getting in touch with our intentions for the lodge and praying in sacred pipe ceremony.

Those who plan to quest this year might find this day a good preparation both within and also in connection with the community.

After a light lunch we will ' let go of time' and begin the sweat lodge ceremony: building the fire, covering the lodge, and being quietly present to the earth mother, the family of life around us and grandfather fire, preparing ourselves to enter the lodge while the grandmother stones are heated by the fire.  When the grandmother stones are ready we will enter the sacred lodge and let go to the four 'rounds' of ceremony.  Upon being 'born' back into this world we will have a thanksgiving potluck feast, in gratitude for the gifts of the lodge, completing our circle possibly near or after sunset.

Everyone is welcome to camp on the land, spending the night close to Grandmother Earth.(There is also limited indoor space, please call ahead if you wish to be indoors. a list of B&Bs is available on request.)

A Suggested Contribution is to support the maintenance of the ceremonial land, the prepartions, the gathering of the wood, offerings to honor the fire tender and water pourer for their time, dedication, experience and effort to hold this space for Spirit with clearity and integrity: $130 is suggested or whatever contribution your guidance would value your experience with and a potluck contribution of a favorite food,

Please register and reserve your space with a $50 deposit by July 12th. The enrollment is limited to 10 participants so early registration is advised.  Call to register, 207-443-7001 and mail your deposit to Maryanna Bock, 569 Berrys Mill Road, West Bath, Maine 04530.
