A Book Review of

Power vs. Force,
The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior:
An Anatomy of Consciousness,

by

David R.Hawkins, MD, Phd.,

cover

Power vs. Force is another of my favorite books. My background as a psychotherapist exposed me to a lot of study of so-called science regarding the human psyche or soul and consciousness.

In reality almost all of it is the opinions of mostly upper class white men and some women. Their opinions were based on their observations of others they felt were is some way 'less than' them. They were somehow able to establish these opinions as 'science' due to their style of presentation, credentials and status.' I never was really comfortable with this. But now, since Werner Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, all of science has found itself in a similar predicament, regarding the lack of reliability of human perception and the awareness that the observer always influences the observed.

Hawkins work is so impressive to me, because he has managed to remove himself as far as imaginable from influencing his finding. Through the use of kinesiology on hundreds of thousands of individuals all providing the same information in response to the research questions, he has provided results that are free as possible from personal interpretation AND he has provided us with an amazing map of human consciousness!

This is the excerpted map. I hope you read his book(s) to gain deeper and highly empowering understanding of it.

I love one of his conclusions :

"Simple kindess to one's self and all that lives, is the most powerful transformational force of all. It produces no backlas, nas no downside, and never leads to loss or despair.  It increases one's own true power without exacting any toll.  But to reach maximum power such kindess can permit no exceptions, nor can it be practiced with the expectation of some selfish reward.  And its effect is as far reaching as it is subtle."

Both his methodology and his results are inspiring and empowering to all of us.  It is a must read and the first of an amazing trilogy.
