"When
we get out of the glass bottles of our ego, and when we escape
like squirrels turning in the cages of our personality and get
into the forests again, we shall shiver with cold and fright
but things will happen to us so that we don't know ourselves.
Cool,
unlying life will rush in, and passion will make our bodies
taut with power, we shall stamp our feet with new power and
old things will fall down, we shall laugh, and institutions
will curl up like burnt paper."

Each year I am once again awestruck by the power of quest to radically change peoples lives
in just a few days at a very core level . This profound experience
with the more-than-human world is guided by the spirits of the
land in Hiram, set aside according to its intention, for this
purpose only.
The
Annual Wilderness quest
is offered September
21 thought 26th
Women will be encouraged to do a Women's Healing Quest to empower their connection withthe nourishing Sacred Feminine, rather than a 'warrior's quest'. However most of all we encourage each of you to follow your own guidance regarding your questing intentions.
Questing
is a life changing experience. Unlike,
solo quests, this process is about community in
the largest sense - the community of life.
The
experience begins with an Elemental Peoples Prayer Pipe Ceremony,
Sacred Peoples Prayer Lodge Ceremony and time spent in wisdom
circles.
Then
each quester will spend four days in their own sacred earth
circle.
The
experience is one of bonding with the planetary family of life
and finding one's true place within it.
It
is in the deepest sense not an ' alone' experience.
It
is a profoundly 'tribal', 'global' and nurturing experience.

The
Focus: Our Place in the Earth Circle
The
wilderness quest is a time to “listen” with our
hearts, to find inside of our self that gentle place where we
are connected to all things.
We listen
to our elder siblings: the stars, the heavenly bodies, our own
grandfather sun and grandmother moon;
the earth
our mother and our earthly family,
the stone
beings, the ancient ones,
the plant
people, from algae, mosses, lichens,
to the
grass and herbs that feed and heal us,
to the
tree beings our brothers and sisters,
the animal
people
from
protozoa to creepy crawlies from the water beings the fined
ones, the reptilian and amphibian ones, who walk the different
dimensions, the four legged's who walk upon the mother in harmony
with her intentions. The winged ones, from the humming
birds to the great eagles, condors, and the vultures, the mothers
of transformation.
We
have so many elder siblings to connect with and learn from through
our planetary bond.
We
spend time in stillness, listening, watching, and learning.
We will attune to the subtle and powerful language of life itself.
The intelligence of Nature and the Planetary Oneness will move/speak
with/ and listen to us within our own sacred circle.
From
this place of connection we will access our true inner knowing,
finding a bedrock foundation from which to live our lives in
loving alignment with our planetary family.
The
spirit of the piece of land where we will be, has offered itself
specifically and intentionally as a questing ground, as a learning
ground.
When
I bought the land I thought I would live there, but in learning
to listen to it, I found it had another, dearer intention.
Its
intention is to teach us about relationship with ourselves,
our partners, our families, all other human brothers and sisters
and all of life to which we are deeply, eternally related.
Questing
is both for you and for the larger community of life; it is
both a solo and a communal/global experience.
Your
time in the sacred circle is time alone and yet present within
the Family of Life in a way that connects you deeply to the
Planetary Earth Family.
Those
interested in this profound experience might want to be in touch
early in the year and participate in some preparatory ceremonies
and sacred prayer lodges.
Additional
preparatory information will be shared with those committing
to this experience.
This
quest process is limited to eight participants, so please be
in touch and register early.
The suggested contribution in support of the land and the supporting facilitators is $600. A deposit of $100 is requested with your commitment to quest to reserve your 'space'. That deposit is refundable up till a month before quest begins.
Feel free to call either of us to talk about questing. Please be in touch with me, Maryanna about your commitment. Send deposit checks to 569 Berrys Mill Road, West Bath, ME 04530.
