A BRIEF AUTOBIOGRAPHY

MY STORY

I grew up on a farm in Michigan. Life was a daily adventure of delight with Nature. Its beauty, nurturance and responsiveness anchored me in love and safety amidst a family and community in turmoil. In an effort to bridge this profound Spiritual connection with the occupational realities of my life, I first trained as an artist and craftsman and later received Master Degrees in Education and Social Work.

As a child, nature taught me the creative artistic process, as the language with which Life communicates with Itself. As I shared this process with others, I discovered its power to heal the mind and empower the Heart. This prompted me to go back to school and to receive my clinical license as a therapist. Even more valuable than my clinical studies were the teaching I received from Native Elders, including the Annishinabee Elder, Hollis Littlecreek.

For many years I have responded to the “Call of the Land” for aligned relationship with humans. I have empowered people’s connection with Nature, Life and each other and their own deeper Self through counseling, coaching, nature retreats, and sharing our innate knowing in wisdom circles.

I have repeatedly witnessed ‘Cool, unlying life .. rush in and passion .. make our bodies taut with power’ transforming us as we go together into the woods in circle and healing retreats among our elders, the trees, the plants, the birds and animals. We regain the amazing Power in our Hearts and re-kindling our connection with the Family of Life through the Healing Powers of Breath; Earth; Fire and Water.

Now at age 68, it is a joy to witness how each of us is so Loved. In the presence of that love, the persons inner knowing surfaces and their lives expand. So that people may truly LIVE and LIVE more abundantly. This is the intention at the center of my own Spiritual evolution and the fundamental purpose of all the events I offer and the guidance I share and hold space for as I coach and counsel folks.
